Overview
Santos Architects and Urban Planners was founded in
1983 as an advocate of designing architecture
responsive to its context.
Operating across the fields of architecture and urban
design, the firm’s approach centers on running
projects as collaborative process with clear
communication strategies, rational planning and
rigorous controls.
Santos Architects aims to provide its clients with
professional architectural services that achieve an
appropriate balance between contextual, aesthetic,
environmental, and cost considerations.
We firmly believe in the principles of environmentally
sustainable design and apply these principles to all
our work.
We are also committed to the principles of quality
management, in order to ensure the consistency of
our services.
Our Roots
SANTOS ARCHITECTS AND URBAN PLANNERS COMPANY
(formerly F.C.+L.D. SANTOS AND PARTNERS) was founded on
the aspiration to provide professional services that can readily
assimilate with the growing complexities in urban
development, construction technology and changing needs of
time.
Ar. Francisco C. Santos, Jr., a graduate from Mapua Institute of
Technology, obtained his varied experience from prestigious
architectural, and construction and property development
companies and institutions local and abroad, thus confidently
put-up his architectural firm 1986; aiming for more
institutionalized architectural practice he finally organized the
Partnership in 1995, with Ar. Leonida D. Santos, who is also a
registered and licensed Architect and Urban Planner in the
Philippines. An addition to the company in 2009 is Ar. Carlo
Franco D. Santos and Ar. Anna Alexandria D. Santos, both
products of Ateneo de Davao University School of Architecture,
who are equally committed to pursue the age-old professional
values, imbibed with high standards of excellence and
dynamism.
For more than 20 years since the inception of the firm,
projects of varying uses and requirements were undertaken.
Our Guiding Philosophy
Santos Architects have always been guided by a belief that
the quality of our surroundings has a direct influence on the
quality of our lives, whether in the workplace, at home or in
public realm. We acknowledge that architecture is generated
by the needs of people, which are both material and spiritual,
maintaining a concern for the physical context and sensitivity
to the culture and climate of place.
The design and management of all projects, regardless of
scale, complexity or building typology is approached on the
same basis with the core values of simplicity, efficiency and
legibility as its driving force.
As professionals we have the dual responsibility to our clients
we serve and the public domain who ultimately become the
users of our designs.
